From north to southwest. A journey of almost four kilometers that crosses the neighborhood of Carabanchel Bajo. Historically, a single street that had like aim the union between the center of Madrid and Carabanchel Alto's area. We talk about General Ricardos street!

The rise of Carabanchel was taking place from the second half of the 18th century and throughout the 19th century. The proliferation of real states and aristrocacy made General Ricardos street conceived as the great axis around which some farms were located, which have been destined for different utilities at present.

Even so, it still coexists with the current reality a residential area that persists despite the years: the so-called 'Colonia de la Prensa', which many "carabancheleros" unaware of its existence.

But, if we continue our route to the center, we find very different scenes. Nowadays, new shops and large blocks of houses make this street one of the busiest in the entire district. We have visited the most outstanding areas.
