A boy of about 22 years old who grew up in the area of Pan Bendito,
Carabanchel tells us that "a long time ago, the houses werec all
shanty, and so that people did not live there, the State made them
flats and gave them to them. That is why almost all the houses in Pan
Bendito are reception apartments, especially the central zone. "
He affirms that "there is a lot of drug trafficking, there are many
gypsy families and a large number of Latin Americans". He tells us
about a woman, who also spoke to me about my second contact, who
"controls and passes the drug business, she sits in a garage to sew
and while people pass she asks for drugs and she takes care of giving
it . There are usually shootings, now maybe not so many, because the
situation has improved compared to a few years ago. In general,
according to moments that I have lived throughout my life, the people
here have little culture and education. "
"Carabanchel has its best and worst areas, but this is one of the
worst. There are many Latin Americans who often form bands and have
and create conflicts "
According to an article in El País, in Pan Bendito, a neighborhood with 7,530 inhabitants, half of its neighbors abandoned their studies before they turned 13, and the problems of coexistence between payos, gypsies and immigrants lead many to silence in order to save fear.
